1. Delete immediately in the app
- Open Ataraxia and sign in.
- Open Settings → Account → Delete my account.
- Review the optional retention offer or optional single-choice survey if shown. Neither can block deletion.
- Review the Store subscription warning and manage the subscription separately if applicable.
- Reauthenticate if requested, then confirm immediate irreversible deletion.
The protected backend removes the account before the app erases that account’s encrypted local scope. A backend failure preserves local content so you can retry safely.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have access to Ataraxia, send a deletion request to support@myataraxia.app once the mailbox is operational. State that you want to delete your Ataraxia account and identify the sign-in method you used. Do not send a password, SMS code, invitation token, journal text or full Store receipt.
Support must verify account ownership securely before invoking any deletion process. This page deliberately provides no unauthenticated public deletion button.
3. What is deleted
- The Firebase Authentication account.
- The account’s Family membership, view, notification preference/token and generic completion metadata.
- If the owner deletes: the Family group, invitations, entitlement proof and administrative metadata; other members’ Auth accounts and local private data are not deleted.
- On the device completing deletion: the account-scoped encrypted Gratitude, ACT reflection, Goals, breathing, progress, profile, reminder and Guided Experience repositories.
4. What may remain outside Ataraxia
Apple and Google may retain transaction, security or legal records under their own policies. Firebase/Google operational audit logs may remain under provider-controlled retention. Ataraxia does not claim forensic erasure of device flash or provider backups.
5. Deletion does not cancel a Store subscription
Cancel an active subscription separately in Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting Ataraxia, deleting the Ataraxia account or uninstalling the app does not stop Store renewal.
6. Family effects
A member’s deletion frees their seat and leaves the other accounts intact. An owner’s deletion dissolves the Family and members return to Free; it does not delete their accounts or private device content.
7. Other privacy choices
- Analytics: Settings → Privacy; off by default and reversible.
- Local reminders and Family encouragement: app Settings and device notification settings.
- Access, correction, restriction, objection, portability or another privacy request: contact support where applicable.
